Rev. Cassandra Mkwanazi
Rev. Cassandra Mkwanazi, a proud native of Galveston Island, Texas, is a distinguished alumna of Ball High School. With over 25 years of dedication to the preaching and singing ministry, she has inspired many through her heartfelt sermons and musical talents. She was a member of Shiloh A.M.E. Church for more than 50 years and has been an affiliate member of several churches, including Evangelist Chapel A.M.E. Church. Currently, she is a member of Baker Chapel A.M.E. Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
Rev. Mkwanazi is a graduate of Paul Quinn College and an esteemed member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She has also served as a member of the Les Brown Achievement Team and the Mainland Toastmasters Association, further honing her leadership and communication skills.
With a remarkable career spanning over four decades, Rev. Mkwanazi has made significant contributions as an educator in math and science. She is the visionary founder of The Welcome Center, formerly known as The Grant Writers Group (501(c)(3)), based at Shiloh Church in Galveston, Texas. Rev. Mkwanazi is also an aspiring airplane pilot and a poet, aiming to inspire others by proving that it is never too late to pursue your dreams. Guided by her life motto, “If I Can Help Somebody, Then My Living is Not in Vain,” she continues to make a profound impact on her community.
